As well as the regular
maintenance our gardeners carry out (ie, weeding, mowing, pruning),
these Case Studies are the results of additional projects completed
Before it’s amazing transformation, this
garden was very uninspiring indeed. There was nothing of interest
to hold the eye in the garden, so instead the eye went straight
to the boundary hedge, making the garden seem a lot smaller
than it actually was.

Before
A trellis enclosure was created, giving this part of the garden
a cosy, secluded feel. A pretty ivy was chosen to scramble up the
trellis and this will act as a background to the other, more magnificent
plants in front of it. A garden bench framed by an arbour acts as
a focal point and this has been planted with scented climbing plants,
where the fragrance can be enjoyed while sitting there admiring the
garden.

After
The planting ebbs outwards halfway down the garden which is emphasized
geometrically, creating an illusion of more space by drawing the
eye from side to side and giving the feeling of two separate garden
rooms.
The planting is carefully chosen to suit the shady and sunny sides
of the garden and careful attention was paid to ensure contrasting
leaf shapes and complimentary flower colours.
